My name is Jayne. Yes, that is my real name. I like to think of myself as an average person. Not to say I disappear into a crowd. In some ways, I stand out. Everyone stands out in some way, even if it’s small. There are some things that I’m good at, and other things that I’m not. It all evens out into a perfectly average person, with passions and fears, and certain types of experience.
I’m a firm believer in knowing what you do and don’t like. But most people I find will decide on their opinion without actually experiencing it first hand. In a world of technology, where we can access information in seconds from across the world, experience has become and neglected term.
I have a friend who likes to tell her other friends that ‘Jayne knows what she likes and doesn’t like’. She jokes that most people won’t give you a definitive answer on answer on if something is good or not, or why. I’ve always given my opinion, making it obvious that it is my opinion, and not necessarily the same for everyone. I am one of those people that is comfortable saying ‘I’m not sure’ if I don’t fully understand something. I will say ‘I’ve never tried that’ or ‘it seems daunting’. I believe firmly that to understand whether or not you like or dislike something, you have to try it, or learn both options.
So this is me. My friend told me to start this blog because she believes my logical, calm and active way of experiencing life has begun to disappear, if it was ever there to begin with. So I will be honest and candid, and am willing to try things you’re curious about, but don’t have the time to try. My rules are simple.
1.) I won’t argue with you if you haven’t done the leg work.
2.) I will ignore any unmotivated obscene comments
3.) I will not drink Rum (19th birthday overkill that I’ve never been able to shake.)
